So, by now you’ve heard that Walmart workers are walking out on strike on Black Friday. Here’s a quick primer on why they’re striking.
Let’s start with the basics. Walmart is the largest private employer in the world. They help set labor standards for almost every country on earth.
Last semester, we were given an assignment to start or participate in a flash mob. My group decided that we would do the celebrity flash mob.
We got together and planned the entire thing. We planted about 12 to 15 people around the Powell Bart Station / Westfield Mall area. I had an entourage and a Starbucks. We had my friends come running up to me in a panic asking for my autograph. They came every 2, 5 and 13 minutes. Our plan was to generate attention.
Slowly people started to ask my “fans” who I was. My friends made up different stories, including movie star, comedian, author, Disney Channel star etc. No one had the same story twice. The only consistency was the name Charlee Holden.
The point was to show how quickly people would jump on the bandwagon. We had crowds of people following me and my friends, I took pictures with children and strangers. I signed a pair of sunglasses and was given free sunglasses. People were so eager to be in the loop, strangers would make up stories about how they knew of me, or movies they have seen me in.
This is a “trailer” to this un experience.
I’m sitting right here with Amy watching this and it is hilarious!! :) —domlet.
