RT @RobertHaas: the air was full of balloons, helium balloons to which tents had been attached, and attached to the tents was kite string. And they hovered over the plaza, large and awkward, almost lyrical, occupying the air.

"America Is Not Broke [HQ]" - Michael Moore - Madison, WI 03.05.2011 from asromeburns. (Video by Joe Stadele) Documentary filmmaker Michael Moore took a last minute flight to Madison, WI in the early hours of March 5th, 2011 for a surprise appearance at Wisconsin Wave’s "We Are Wisconsin Rally." After the speech, he gave his handwritten speech to a kid in the front. "The nation is not broke, my friends. Wisconsin is not broke. It’s part of the Big Lie. It’s one of the three biggest lies of the decade: America/Wisconsin is broke, Iraq has WMD, the Packers can’t win the Super Bowl without Brett Favre." "Contrary to what those in power would like you to believe so that you’ll give up your pension, cut your wages, and settle for the life your great-grandparents had, America is not broke. Not by a long shot. The country is awash in wealth and cash. It’s just that it’s not in your hands. It has been transferred, in the greatest heist in history, from the workers and consumers to the banks and the portfolios of the uber-rich." — Michael Moore For photos of Madison protests, goto: www.flickr.com/jstadele

Zoom westandwiththe99percent: I am an only child. I’ve worked since I was 16, though i didnt have to.

My parents and their parents immigrated to North America with a dream for a better life for their children
My father went to college and became a lawyer
I didnt have that same fire or drive, I have 3 University degrees, have a very good job, provide for my family and myself
I get upset when my satellite radio doesnt work on the way into the office, or if the HD is upconverted
I take for too much for granted and for that I am ashamed
I have taught my children well, to respect everyone, equally and fairly to appreciate the opportunities they have and to help wherever and however they can
Where you were born, and what you were born into shouldn’t matter…opportunity is blind…but opportunity has had the life choked out of it by greed
I am the 1% and I wholeheartedly stand with the 99%

Zoom westandwiththe99percent: I was born in a terrific hospital and received all the pre and postnatal care a baby needs.  I have enough clothes, toys, food and medicine for three babies.  My parents have health insurance and my pediatrician is amazing.  When I got reflux the doctor saw me on a Saturday.  I even have a college fund already. There are 17,000,000 children in America who go hungry every day.  Shame on us for not taking care of our youngest most innocent citizens.  My generation needs help.  We need large-scale redistribution of wealth and the rebalancing of our moral and economic compass.I am the 1 percent, I stand with the 99 percent.
